Trials & Tribulations of a Photographer

I won't say that I love my 'work' every time... sometimes things like miscommunication stand in the way, sometimes the client doesn't clearly explain what they want, so I take the initiative to come up with the best possible photos in that situation. There are even times that I find that some people have a lack of personality - I know that this isn't a nice thing to say, but personality conflicts happen all the time - which is why I have learned to always, always meet with the clients before hand, and I always, always have the right to refuse a 'job.' I have also learned two more things - never sell gift certificates, and sometimes, my style isn't what they want!

This photo... is from a session where I probably would have refused given the situation. I personally, do like how it turned out, the clients - did not. Live and Learn!

Mr. & Mrs. C ... & Family

Here's Mr and Mrs C and 2 of their kids - they have 4 beautiful children all together, but for the sake of 'the best' photos, I'm posting three of my favorites from this summer! Enjoy! :)

I have preference for taking 'natural' looking shots when it comes to kids. Most of them do not like to pose and be told what to do, and you really can see their personalities shine through when they are told just to do what they want to do!

On a personal note, you should know that I have backed everything up on my nice new external hard drive, which means my computer has plenty of room and isn't so congested with photos anymore! The only downfall is that I now have loads and loads of photos to post on this blog still, and I'm going to end up doing it out of order.... so for future reference, you'll see new and old back to back in posts!

This is without a doubt, one of my favourite family shoots I have ever done. I have known Miss J since we were in school together and it was fantastic to see her looking so wonderful and happy with her man and her family. They are truly beautiful people, and she has a phenomenal spirit about her - that is something very rare!

These are the engagement shots from this wonderful couple! They are now married, and their wedding photos will be coming up soon. They were troopers on this day since it wasn't overly warm and I did make them sit on the cold cement for a few shots!
